Welspun Corp has told stock exchanges that its Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) and Senior Management Personnel (SMP), Rakesh Mehta, has resigned, effective the close of business hours on 2 November 2026, citing personal reasons. His exit comes about 13 months after he was appointed to the role in October 2025.
The company informed exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The disclosure recorded Mehta’s cessation as CHRO and Senior Management Personnel of the company due to personal reasons.
Mehta joined Welspun Corp as CHRO on 13 October 2025. The Nomination and Remuneration Committee recommended the appointment, and the Board of Directors approved it. At the time, the company said Mehta would lead cultural transformation, industrial relations, and people strategy across the organisation.
Welspun has not named an interim or permanent successor in its disclosure. It has also not flagged any wider HR leadership restructuring tied to the exit.
The resignation is the second high-profile short-tenure CHRO exit in the Indian manufacturing sector in recent weeks, following the departure of Jindal Steel President and Head of HR Sukhjit S. Pasricha within three months of his 23 July 2026 appointment.
