Vedanta has appointed Pallavi Bhatia as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of its Alumina Business.
In her new role, Bhatia will lead HR strategy, talent development, and workforce performance for an alumina vertical that contributes nearly 38% of India’s total alumina output, with the Lanjigarh refinery in Odisha now operating at 5 MTPA capacity, which is the world’s second-largest alumina refinery outside China.
Bhatia moves to Vedanta from Pernod Ricard, where she served as Regional Human Resources Manager. She brings close to two decades of HR experience spanning consumer goods, manufacturing, tyre and rubber, automotive components, and metals.
Most recently, she was Regional HR Manager at Pernod Ricard India, the wines and spirits major behind brands such as Absolut, Chivas Regal, and Jameson. Before joining Pernod Ricard, she was associated with Minova Runaya, the ground support and chemical solutions company, in a senior HR capacity. Prior to that, she worked with Goodyear India Limited, where she handled HR for the tyre manufacturer’s Indian operations.
Earlier in her career, Bhatia held HR leadership roles at ATG Tire (a Yokohama Group company) and Cavendish Industries Ltd, a JK Tyre associate. She began her HR journey at Aryan HR Consulting Pvt Ltd, working on senior hiring mandates for clients including the Adani Group, Tata Motors, and Hero Honda. She also gained early exposure to telecom HR at Bharti Airtel.
Bhatia holds an MBA in HR and Marketing from Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (2005–2007), and lists more than 17 years of full-spectrum HR experience across multinational organisations on her professional profile. Her track record across talent acquisition, business partnering, and HR operations sits alongside experience in industrial relations and large workforce management — capabilities directly relevant to a refinery-led business with deep manufacturing and shop-floor operations.
