Amit Sharma has been elevated to Senior Head of HR, Learning and Development (L&D) and Administration at Bajaj Finserv, effective October 2026, where he will lead these three functions for the microfinance strategic business unit (SBU) of Bajaj Finance.
The elevation deepens the people-function leadership at Bajaj Finserv for one of its fastest-growing lending verticals, and comes after a two-year run in which Sharma rebuilt the HR and L&D stack for the microfinance business from the ground up.
Before his elevation, Sharma served as Head of HR and L&D at Bajaj Finserv from January 2024 to October 2026, where he oversaw the HR, learning and development, and administration functions for the microfinance business. He joined the business in January 2024 from Reliance Jio, where he was Vice President of Human Resources from July 2022 to January 2024.
Earlier in his career, Sharma spent over four years across Bajaj Housing Finance and Bajaj Finserv. At Bajaj Housing Finance, he served as National Head of HR Business Partnering, Talent Management, and L&D, where he established and developed HR business partnering, learning and development, and talent management practices. Before that, he was National Manager of HR Business Partner at Bajaj Finserv, supporting several of the group’s lending and financial services businesses. His earlier roles include Circle HR Head at Telenor India.
Sharma brings more than 20 years of HR experience across housing finance companies, NBFCs, telecom, insurance, media, auto manufacturing, the Indian Army, and the NGO sector. He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
