Shriram Farm Solutions, the agri-inputs business of DCM Shriram, has appointed Shweta Govil Singh as Chief Human Resources Officer.
She joins from McKinsey & Company, where she spent more than 14 years. She has over two decades of HR experience in total, across consulting, FMCG, banking and financial services, and analytics.
In the new role, she’ll lead the business’s HR function. Her mandate covers people strategy, leadership and talent development, organisational effectiveness, culture transformation and organisational change.
The appointment date wasn’t disclosed.
Fourteen years at McKinsey
Govil Singh joined McKinsey in 2012 as an HR Specialist. That role covered talent acquisition, compensation, HR transformation, policy, employee relations and people operations. She worked on scaling the firm’s India Client Capability Network and on employee experience, inclusion and HR process initiatives.
She later moved into recruiting. As Head, India Recruiting for McKinsey’s Global Capability Centre (GCC) and Talent Acquisition Lead for McKinsey Analytics Asia, she led hiring across practices and markets including Southeast Asia, Japan and Australia.
Her later roles were in professional development for the Banking and Insurance practice:
- Global Professional Development, Talent Business Partner: managed the talent lifecycle for a globally distributed cohort, working on leadership development, succession and capability growth.
- Professional Development Lead, Asia Pacific: her last role before the move, covering career pathways, leadership development, succession planning and capability building for senior consulting talent in the region.
Alongside the APAC role, she led global talent strategy for the Banking and Insurance domain within McKinsey’s GCC, covering talent in more than 20 geographies.

Before McKinsey
Govil Singh was Senior Manager, Human Resources at FieldFresh Foods. There, she led talent development and engagement and was the HR business partner for the commercial and sales functions. Her work included rewards, sales incentive design and competency frameworks.
Before that, she was Regional Manager, HR, for North and East India at Cholamandalam DBS Finance. In that role, she supported a workforce of more than 400 on-roll and 700 off-roll employees.
She also held HR roles at Onicra Credit Rating Agency, Aviva India and Tata Finance. She’s an alumna of XLRI Jamshedpur’s postgraduate HR management programme.
