Sudakshina Ghosh has been appointed Vice President — Human Resources at Bata India, with her joining scheduled on or before May 25, 2026.
The appointment was disclosed by the company under regulatory requirements and forms part of a broader senior management transition that will also see Senior Vice President — Merchandising & Replenishment, Uttam Kumar, exit on May 1, 2026.
In her new role, Ghosh will lead the people function for the listed footwear major, with a brief that spans organisational transformation, talent management, and culture-building as Bata India navigates retail expansion and a competitive consumer market.
Ghosh brings over 18 years of experience in human resources across consumer goods, paints, and pharmaceuticals. She joins Bata India from GSK, where she had been Country HR Head for Vietnam since 2022, leading HR operations and people strategy for the pharmaceutical major’s Vietnam business.
Prior to GSK, Ghosh spent several years within the Asian Paints group in progressive HR leadership roles, building a track record across talent strategy, organisational development and HR operations in domestic and international markets. Ghosh holds an MBA in Human Resources from the Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon, and a BTech in Electrical Engineering from St Thomas Institute of Technology.
The appointment comes as Bata India recalibrates its leadership team for the next phase of growth, with revenue from operations remaining flat in FY25 even as profit for the year grew 26.3% to ₹328 crore.
