Royal Sundaram General Insurance has appointed Sweta Ganguly as Chief People Officer.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief People Officer at Royal Sundaram General Insurance Co. Limited!” Ganguly shared on LinkedIn.
In her new role, Ganguly will lead Royal Sundaram’s human capital and culture transformation. She will focus on leadership development, organisational agility, and workforce excellence as the company continues to scale its operations across India.
Ganguly has about 2 decades of experience in the BFSI sector with a strong background in talent management, strategic policy framework, employee life cycle management, and stakeholder engagement. She is recognised as an HR Strategy architect, credited with implementing innovative, path-breaking Talent Management initiatives to streamline processes.
In 2023, Ganguly was given a place in the 10%Club Winners List of the 1000 Women Leaders Program 2023 by Jombay. She was humbled by the accolade and revealed how she cherished the 3-month experience of the program and all she learned during that time.
Prior to joining Royal Sundaram General Insurance, Ganguly was affiliated with Equitas Small Finance Bank for over seven years. She joined the company in September 2018 as Senior Vice President & National Head- Business HR – Liabilities Business and Head TA COE. In September 2024, she was also appointed as Senior Vice President & Head – Business HR Liabilities and Head Employee Relations, a role she held until June 2025.
Ganguly was also a part of YES Bank for over a decade. She was appointed as an Assistant Manager in February 2008 and then became Manager in April 2009. In October 2011, Ganguly was promoted to Senior Manager, followed by her ascension to Assistant. Vice President and Regional Head in October 2012.
From October 2014 to October 2015, Ganguly served as Vice President & Regional Head at YES Bank. She was then appointed as Vice President and Zonal Head in October 2015 and Senior Vice President and Zonal Head in January 2016. Ganguly also worked for TTK Healthcare from July 2006 to February 2008 as Assistant Manager of HR.
In March 2006, Ganguly joined IBM Global Business Services as an HR Executive, a role she retained until June 2006. She was also a part of GE Money from June 2003 to June 2004 as a Marketing Executive.
