Marico Limited’s employee costs rose 19% year-on-year to ₹259 crore in Q2 FY27, outpacing the FMCG company’s 13% revenue growth, as it continued to invest in brands, distribution and newer categories while riding its strongest quarterly profit growth in over a decade.
Revenue from operations stood at ₹3,897 crore in Q2 FY27, up 13% from ₹3,450 crore a year earlier, while net profit rose 31% to ₹550 crore, Marico said in its earnings statement. The company described the quarter as its strongest EBITDA growth in 50 quarters and highest PAT growth in 51 quarters.
Other expenses also rose faster than revenue, climbing 26% to ₹456 crore. Material costs increased only 1% in Q2 despite the 13% revenue growth, reflecting the benefit of lower copra prices and improved product mix.
Marico’s India business recorded 10% underlying volume growth during the quarter, while the international business posted 23% revenue growth in rupee terms. The foods segment posted 45% value growth, reflecting both organic expansion and contributions from recent acquisitions.
Marico said the higher employee and other expense lines reflect “business expansion and inflation”, according to the company’s earnings presentation.
In its outlook, the company said: “We expect to achieve mid-twenties EBITDA growth in FY27. Further, India business is poised to deliver double-digit volume growth and International business should see accelerating constant currency growth in the second half of FY27.”
Marico also raised its full-year FY27 guidance, now expecting teens revenue growth, comfortably crossing ₹15,000 crore. At a consolidated level, the company has stated an aspiration to reach ₹20,000 crore in revenue with mid-teens EBITDA CAGR.
