Cognizant has announced that it will be rolling out salary hikes for about 80% of its employees, effective November 1, 2025, as per Reuters.
Though Cognizant usually rolls out its wage hikes in August, the company delayed this year due to macroeconomic factors, according to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jatin Dalal, who cited tariff-related uncertainties.
“Given the macro environment at play and the uncertainty around it, we have not yet taken a decision on salary increase. Our endeavour is to cover a vast majority of our employees during the second half of this year as and when we decide,” Dalal had shared while sharing the company’s performance data for the April-June 2025 quarter.
Out of the 3,43,800 employees across the globe, two-thirds of Cognizant’s workforce is based in India.
“This (wage hike) aligns with its announcement during its second quarter earnings that it plans to award merit-based salary increases for the vast majority of employees during the second half of 2025,” the company said in its email statement.
The hikes will be applicable to employees up to, and including, the senior associate levels. The increments will be decided based on individual performance ratings and countries. Cognizant added that it has not yet decided on the wage hike for the rest of the employees.
