The Rajasthan government has launched the Rajasthan Industrial Park Promotion Policy (RIICO) 2026, a framework aimed at boosting investment, infrastructure, and employment generation across the state. The move comes as Rajasthan recorded a 28.5% unemployment rate as of December 2024, with industrial underdevelopment outside major centres like Jaipur and Jodhpur cited as a key driver.

The policy introduces a flexible framework through models such as fully private ownership, hybrid land-sharing systems, and public-private partnerships (PPP), ensuring participation from both public and private sectors. A minimum area of 50 acres and at least 10 industrial units have been made mandatory for private parks. RIICO will act as the nodal agency, handling land allotment, infrastructure development, and investor coordination.

The policy also encourages balanced regional development by promoting industrialisation in less-developed areas, with the aim of reducing regional disparities within the state. Investors will find opportunities in emerging sectors such as renewable energy, logistics, and manufacturing, all expected to be key job generators as new parks come online.

To facilitate ease of doing business, the policy includes exemptions in electricity duty for renewable energy use, concessions in stamp duty and conversion charges, and a single-window clearance system through the Raj Nivesh Portal.

The policy is expected to significantly boost industrialisation, attract private investments, and create job opportunities. How quickly those outcomes materialise will depend on project approvals, infrastructure delivery, and investor uptake on the ground.
