Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Ronita Majumdar Basu as Head of People – India | South East Asia | Middle East and Africa.

In her new role, Basu will lead the company’s people strategy across these dynamic markets, aligning talent initiatives with business priorities and long-term growth ambitions. Her appointment has been welcomed by the company’s leadership, including Anshul Jain, Chief Executive – India, SEA, MEA and APAC Office and Retail at Cushman & Wakefield

“As we accelerate growth across diverse markets, building leadership capability and an inclusive, high-performance culture is critical. Ronita’s business insight and people leadership will be key to strengthening our people’s agenda and supporting long-term growth,” shared Jain.

Basu also expressed her happiness with the appointment, stating, “Cushman & Wakefield’s focus on people and culture strongly resonates with me. In a services-led organisation, attracting high-quality talent and creating the right environment for teams to perform at their best is critical. As the firm continues to grow, I look forward to strengthening people practices that enable capability, engagement and sustained performance.”

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Basu was part of JLL, serving as Global People Partner for JLL Business Services from October 2023 to January 2026. She was also associated with JLL India from January 2019 to October 2023 as Senior Director, Human Resources.

In September 2015, Basu joined HT Media as a General Manager. She was promoted to Assistant Vice President in January 2017. Basu was also affiliated with Citibank India for over 5 years, joining as an HR Generalist in June 2010 and being promoted to Lead HR Generalist (Vice President) in August 2012.

For over 4 years, Basu was with GE Capital (GE Commercial Finance). She started at the company as a Management Trainee (Assistant Manager level) in June 2006, and became Employee Relations & Hiring Manager in May 2007. This was followed by Basu’s promotion to Business HR Manager in November 2007. In October 2009, she became an HR Manager and held the role until June 2010.
