Government employees from across the state of Rajasthan held a one-day protest at Shaheed Smarak in Jaipur on Monday, demanding redressal of their issues, particularly within the education sector.

Led by Mahendra Singh, chief of the Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karamchari Sanyukt Mahasangh (Ekikrit), the protestors raised concerns over the transfer of Grade-III teachers and staffing shortage in government schools. Members of Mahasangh shared that more than 1.25 lakh teaching posts are currently vacant within the state’s education department.

Many employees also highlighted salary anomalies, delays in promotion, and the slow posting process of newly recruited teachers in Mahatma Gandhi Schools. It was to express their dissatisfaction with these issues that employees from various districts in Rajasthan gathered and protested in Jaipur on December 29, 2025 (Monday).

The protest was attended by employees from 55 constituent organisations. These include various teachers’ associations, nurses and paramedical staff unions, anganwadi workers, animal husbandry staff, diploma engineers, yoga instructors, and several other employee bodies from different departments.

A Mahasangh delegation went on to submit a memorandum to the additional chief secretary (ACS) in the Chief Minister’s Office, Akhil Arora, and held discussions on their demands. In turn, the ACS has promised that the state government will hold cadre-wise discussions before the upcoming budget session to address the employees’ issues.

Mahasangh state general secretary, Vipin Prakash Sharma, has warned that if the demands are not resolved ahead of the budget session, government employees will launch a phased agitation across the state.
