UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) has appointed Babita Sharma as Head of People and Programmes.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Head of People and Programmes at UK Research and Innovation!” Sharma shared on LinkedIn. Through her actions, she is determined to make changes that are needed for the betterment of society and promote awareness about sustainable development.
Prior to UKRI, Sharma had been associated with the British High Commission in India for over six years. She had joined the organisation in March 2019 as Business Planning and Visits Support Officer and was then given the role of Chevening Programme Officer in March 2020. In April 2022, Sharma became Deputy Head – Newton Fund. She was later appointed as Senior Advisor – Net Zero in March 2023, a role she held until she joined UKRI.
From June 2018 to February 2019, Sharma was a part of Centre for Strategy and Leadership as a Project Coordinator. She also worked for H2 Life Foundation from May 2018 to February 2019 as a Project Coordinator. Sharma joined Vatavaran in June 2017 as a Project Coordinator and was also affiliated with Hara Jeevan from May 2016 to May 2017 as a Campaign Manager.
