Wipro will build a workforce of more than 10,000 AI-certified specialists, including 1,500 forward-deployed engineers (FDEs), as it expands its partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate enterprise adoption of Gemini Enterprise and agentic AI, the company announced on 27 August 2026.
The specialists will work on Google Gemini-based solutions for enterprises, with the wider aim of moving Google Cloud’s AI from pilots into daily enterprise workflows. The 1,500 forward-deployed engineers are designed to work close to client teams, where data access, workflow design and human-approval rules often decide whether an AI pilot becomes a production system.
Wipro also detailed a new “LIFT” framework, Launch, Ignite, Flywheel and Transform, combining Gemini Enterprise with its own tools including Wipro Intelligence, WINGS and WEGA.Google Cloud framed the expansion around live enterprise demand.
“Our partnership with Wipro continues to drive real-world value for enterprise customers looking to scale AI across their organisations. The strong demand for Gemini Enterprise indicates the value it is adding for customers today,” said Kevin Ichhpurani, President, Global Partner Ecosystem, Google Cloud.
The scale of the plan is notable, though the wording matters: Wipro says it will “empower over 10,000 AI-certified specialists,” describing the workforce it intends to equip for the partnership rather than confirming that number is simultaneously staffed on paid Gemini projects. Certification gives Wipro a common technical baseline across cloud architecture, data engineering, security and AI development, useful when a client wants to scale from one department into several.
