Wipro has granted more than 10.2 lakh stock units to employees under its 2024 equity scheme, effective 29 July 2026, in a fresh signal of how India’s IT majors are leaning on equity to hold on to talent.

The grant covers 9,11,458 ADS Restricted Stock Units and 1,10,424 Restricted Stock Units, totalling 10,21,882 units, awarded to identified employees under the company’s Employee Stock Options, Performance Stock Unit and Restricted Stock Unit Scheme 2024. Company Secretary M Sanaulla Khan signed the disclosure to the stock exchanges on 29 July.

The units will not convert to shares immediately. They vest in tranches over timelines and performance parameters set and approved by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the Board, tying the payoff to both tenure and performance rather than a one-time handout.

The move fits a steady cadence rather than a one-off. Wipro has allotted equity through employee schemes repeatedly across 2026, including a 66,138-unit ADS RSU grant on 3 July and multiple large allotments as employees exercised existing options, among them a 54.49 lakh-share allotment in early May. The recurring grants point to equity that is woven into everyday compensation, not reserved for senior leadership alone.
