Wipro has given the majority of its employees an average of 90% variable payout for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024–25 (Q4 FY25).

With a bonus this high, Wipro has set itself apart from the others in the industry. For the same time period, Infosys handed out 65% variable pay, while Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) paid 70% of its employees full variable pay, while the others were given bonuses based on business and unit performance.

The lower amounts of variable pay highlight the turbulent times within the IT industry. As such, Wipro’s decision to maintain a high percentage of variable pay is sure to boost its employee engagement and retention.

In April 2025, Wipro’s Chief Human Resource Officer, Saurabh Govil, had stated that the salary hikes for the year remained a decision to be made at a later date. “I don’t have a crystal ball that tells me how it (macroeconomic issues) goes… going from the context of FY25-26, the uncertainties have dramatically increased,” Chief Executive Officer Srinivas Pallia had added.

Despite the expressed uncertainties, the high percentage of variable pay highlights that Wipro is striving hard to keep its employees happy and financially secure.
