HDFC Bank has announced the resignation of its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Vinay Razdan, effective June 18, 2025.
The bank announced the resignation in a regulatory filing but did not disclose any official reason behind Razdan’s exit. Currently, the Bank has not announced who will be stepping into the role of CHRO next. According to Mint, HDFC could look towards one of Razdan’s deputies to become the new CHRO, though the publication stated that the bank will also look at external candidates.
Razdan had been serving as HDFC’s CHRO for well over six years. He joined the bank in September 2018 and oversaw the company’s HR operations with a keen eye.
Before HDFC, Razdan was a part of Idea Cellular. He became the company’s CHRO in January 2006 and retained the role until August 2018. Before that, he served as Associate Vice President at HCL Technologies from 2000 to 2006.
For 12 years, Razdan had been a part of ITC Limited. He started at the company in 1988 as an HR Manager and worked at that position until 2000. With well over 3 decades of experience, Razdan is a pioneer within the Indian HR industry who has served as an inspiration for many.
