Varroc has appointed Avijit Roy as Group Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
“I am excited to join Varroc at a defining moment in its transformation-led growth journey,” said Roy, adding, “The opportunity to build a future-ready organisation, where human insight and evolving technologies work in synergy, is both inspiring and meaningful. I look forward to nurturing a culture that empowers people, drives performance, and creates sustainable long-term value.”
Roy steps into a mandate centred on building a people-first, future-ready agenda aligned with Varroc’s growth ambitions across India and key international markets. He will spearhead the company’s group-wide HR strategy, with a specific focus on strengthening organisational capability, enabling a high-performance culture, and accelerating talent transformation as the mobility ecosystem evolves.
He succeeds Kavita Kulkarni, who served as Group CHRO for seven years and will remain with the company until April 30, 2026, to support a smooth handover. Kulkarni’s tenure was defined by landmark work on talent pipelines, leadership development, and workforce planning, contributions that CEO Arjun Jain acknowledged directly in his statement: “We extend our sincere appreciation to Kavita for her invaluable contribution to helping us evolve into an agile, people-first organisation.”
Roy brings over 27 years of experience across the automotive and manufacturing ecosystem. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President – Global Human Resources at Aditya Birla Group, where he led people strategy and transformation for a multibillion-dollar business spanning 14 countries and 19 locations. Prior to that, he held the role of Regional HR Head – Asia, driving large-scale workforce strategies and supporting business expansion, including China market entry. He has also held HR leadership positions at Hero MotoCorp, Hindustan Unilever, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Tesco.
Varroc Engineering is a global tier-1 automotive supplier with over 6,100 employees across 37 manufacturing facilities worldwide, supported by seven R&D centres and more than 120 patents filed. The company manufactures lighting, polymer, and electrical-electronic systems for the mobility sector.
Arjun Jain, Whole Time Director and CEO – Business I, said: “Avijit comes on board with demonstrated ability to build agile, future-ready organisations and align talent strategy with business priorities in varied environments. As we drive the next phase of growth, his leadership will ensure our growth is sustainable from a people perspective.”
Roy reports to Jain in his new role.
