The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the establishment of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zones across the state. On the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Diwas, CM Yogi Adityanath made the announcement.
The CM stressed that the state’s industrial policy seeks to create an enabling ecosystem where youth will access skill development, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities within a single campus.
According to media reports, the Uttar Pradesh government has outlined plans for a new integrated Employment and Industrial Zone aimed at strengthening the state’s industrial ecosystem while expanding job and skill-building opportunities. The proposed zone is designed to function as a single-window hub that brings together industry support, skill development, employment services and entrepreneurship facilitation under one roof.
The initiative places strong emphasis on boosting MSMEs, service-led enterprises and innovation-focused businesses. To reduce entry barriers for entrepreneurs, the project will offer modern infrastructure such as plug-and-play workspaces and flat factory units, allowing businesses to commence operations with limited upfront investment.
Officials said the zones will be equipped with shared infrastructure, including common facility centres, testing and quality labs, design and display centres, tool rooms, effluent treatment plants, and ready-to-use industrial units. Alongside physical infrastructure, the facilities will also support entrepreneurship development through training programmes, mentoring, handholding assistance and awareness sessions on government-backed financing and loan schemes, particularly targeting youth skill enhancement.
The project is planned to roll out in phases across all districts of Uttar Pradesh, with each Employment and Industrial Zone spanning at least 50 acres. The operational framework is expected to support a mix of self-employment, entrepreneurship development, skill training initiatives, internships, apprenticeships and wage-based employment linked to nearby industries.
Calling the initiative a major step towards youth empowerment, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zone is envisioned as a key platform for jobs, skills and entrepreneurship in the state. He has asked officials to fast-track land identification and execution to ensure the project becomes a scalable model for industrial growth and employment generation across Uttar Pradesh.
