The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government is set to provide 1.5 lakh jobs in 2026, said state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
In an official statement, the UP government revealed that it aims to create 10 lakh jobs over the past 10 years. CM Adityanath directed officials in a recent meeting to provide department-wise details of vacant posts to expedite recruitment.
As such, Adityanath, after reviewing the vacancies, has approved hiring for 1.5 lakh jobs across different departments in the government in the following year. The majority of these positions will be in he police and education departments, with 50,000 posts available in each area. The revenue department is also set to hire 20,000 new faces.
Other state departments that will see an influx of employees include housing development, health, child development, nutrition, and prisons, as per the statement.
“With this, the state government is set to create a record by providing the highest number of government jobs in a single year,” the statement added.
If the initiative is successful, UP will achieve the intended milestone of hiring 10 lakh people in 10 years by 2026. This will make it the first state to achieve this. As of now, the UP government has indeed hired more than 8.5 lakh people in the last 8.5 years. This, as per the statement, was done through a transparent and fair process.
Recruitment advertisements are in the final stages of preparation, and processes have already begun in some departments, the statement revealed.
