The Telangana government aims to establish 120 Global Capability Centres (GCCs) by 2026, setting the stage for 1.2 lakh new jobs, said state IT and Industries Minister D (Duddilla) Sridhar Babu.

During the inauguration of the Vanguard New India Global Value Centre (GVC) in Hyderabad’s Knowledge Park, Babu shared how the establishment of the GVC highlights Hyderabad’s growing importance as a tech hub. With over $6.4 trillion in assets, Vanguard chose Hyderabad as its centre to focus on engineering excellence, AI-led solutions, data security, and cloud modernisation.

“Vanguard, the world’s leading financial powerhouse, has chosen Hyderabad for its Global Value Centre,” shared Babu. “With this, Hyderabad now hosts all seven of the world’s leading asset management companies: Vanguard, State Street Global Advisors, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Invesco, UBS, and Franklin Templeton.”

“The selection of Hyderabad for Vanguard’s Global Value Centre reflects the city’s trust, integrity, and innovation,” Babu said. He went on to share how the Telangana government is focusing not only on attracting investments but also ensuring that the local workforce benefits from these developments.

“Together, these global leaders manage over $30 trillion in assets, nearly equivalent to the combined GDP of India, China, and Japan, right here from Hyderabad. This milestone reinforces Hyderabad’s position as a global command centre for financial innovation, technology, and talent,” the minister explained.

To bring its plans to fruition, the Telangana government aims to equip local youth with the necessary skills for future-ready roles in sectors such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, cloud engineering, and cybersecurity.

“We are focusing on skilling, reskilling, and upskilling our youth to meet the demands of tomorrow’s job market,” Babu stated.

The Telangana state government is also focusing on education and workforce development to make sure that the local talent pool matches the expectations of the influx of employers.

“We encourage international industry leaders to be partners in the story of Rising Telangana,” Babu said, talking about future investments in the city.
