In a bid to accelerate its quality hiring process, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is providing incentives to the recruiters who reel in skilled candidates, according to Mint.

As per the report, the vendors whose candidates are able to pass the company’s quality checks will receive up to 50% extra payouts. The strategy highlights how TCS is shifting from volume hiring to quality hiring.

Milind Lakkad, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at TCS, has been a part of meetings with hiring vendors in various cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. He has emphasised that the quality of the candidates needs to increase with urgency in sourcing talent with proven technical expertise, particularly in high-demand domains.

“We are looking for skilled professionals who can hit the ground running. The emphasis is on quality, not just numbers,” the CHRO stated as per Mint.

Currently, TCS has over 3,000 job vacancies in areas such as Java programming for the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance), SAP, testing, and .Net technologies. Due to the domain-specific knowledge and hands-on experience required for these roles, it is evident why TCS is pushing for learned candidates.

The Mint report claims that TCS has at least 200 positions open in Java, 100 in SAP, and around 300 in testing and .Net. The company has accelerated its hiring to fill these roles to maintain smooth project operations and have a strong first half of FY 2025–26.
