Food delivery platform Swiggy is taking a progressive step to better support women in the workforce. The company has launched ‘Mom’entum 2.0’, an enhanced maternity policy designed to provide comprehensive support throughout the motherhood journey. As part of this multi-year initiative, new mothers can choose to work from home for up to a year after completing their 26-week maternity leave, with flexible options such as part-time roles and prorated pay. The policy also ensures role protection, offering returning mothers access to at least three comparable internal job opportunities.

Other key features of the policy include pre-childbirth IVF support, financial aid for newborn care, child insurance coverage, and dedicated mental health sessions focused on postpartum wellbeing. Swiggy will also offer mentorship through its “Swiggy Moms Community” and ensure performance ratings are maintained during maternity leave.

Commenting on the updated policy, Girish Menon, Chief Human Resources Officer at Swiggy, said, “Inclusivity goes beyond increasing gender diversity — it’s about building a workplace where mothers feel supported as they grow their careers and care for their families. Over the past 11 years, women at Swiggy have led critical roles — driving impact and solving complex challenges. We understand that motherhood isn’t a single event, but a journey with evolving needs and challenges. That’s where ‘Mom’entum 2.0 comes in — a long-term, structured program that offers meaningful support, especially during the most formative years of motherhood. It’s designed to create an environment where women can grow in their careers while staying true to their personal journeys. This is another step in our ongoing commitment to building a truly inclusive workplace for all Swiggsters.”

This isn’t Swiggy’s first step toward inclusive caregiving policies. Aligned with its broader Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) vision, the company introduced a gender-neutral parental policy in 2020, extending support across various paths to parenthood, including adoption, surrogacy, miscarriage, and IVF treatments. In 2024, it further expanded this commitment with the launch of the Swiggy Paw-ternity Policy for pet parents. Together, these initiatives underscore Swiggy’s recognition of caregiving in all its forms, aiming to ensure employees feel seen, supported, and valued at every stage of life.
