SLMG Beverages has opened its largest Coca-Cola bottling plant in Buxar, Bihar.
The company is investing ₹1,200 crore in the first phase of the plant, which is set to strengthen its production capacity and serve as a step forward in Bihar’s industrial development.
The Buxar plant is SLMG Beverages’ first Coca-Cola bottling plant in Bihar and will serve as the primary supply hub for the state and nearby regions, including eastern Uttar Pradesh.
With seven high-speed production lines, the Buxar plant has the capacity to bottle over 5,000 bottles per minute. The 65-acre facility will produce carbonated soft drinks, juices, packaged drinking water, and aseptic beverages, as per a company statement.
“By bringing manufacturing closer to consumption markets, the plant is expected to reduce logistics costs, improve supply responsiveness, and ensure fresher product availability during peak demand seasons,” the company said.
Touted as the largest Coca-Cola plant in South Asia, the facility is expected to create over 1,000 direct jobs. It is also set to pave the path for thousands of indirect jobs across logistics, distribution, and ancillary sectors.
