Skye Air Mobility has promoted Vinay Kumar to Chief People Officer.
Kumar steps into the CPO role at Skye Air Mobility after serving as Head of People at the Gurugram-based drone delivery firm, where he led HR, talent acquisition, HR operations, and administration across India. He has been with the company since May 2024, most recently serving as Head of People.
In his expanded role, Kumar will lead the company’s people strategy, workforce scaling, and organisational effectiveness initiatives, aligning talent priorities with Skye Air’s high-growth business objectives. As Head of People, he had built and scaled the people function while also driving last-mile and first-mile logistics operations involving a workforce strength of over 1,000.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, Kumar began his career at Shoppers Stop as HR and Admin Executive from 2009 to 2011. He then served IBM as Senior Executive–Talent Management and HR Operations for over two and a half years, before joining McCormick & Company as Assistant Manager–Human Resources in 2013.
In February 2015, Biotique appointed Kumar as Assistant Manager–Human Resources and Admin. He moved to Coolwinks Technologies in 2016 as Deputy Manager–HR and Admin, was elevated to Manager–HR and Admin a year later, and promoted to Senior Manager–HR and Admin in 2018.
From 2019 to 2021, Kumar was associated with Luxottica, first as Senior Manager–HRBP and Admin, and later as Associate Director–HRBP and Talent Acquisition. He went on to co-found EyeMyEye, where he also served as Director–HRBP for almost three years, before joining Skye Air Mobility as Head of People in May 2024.
