Religare has appointed Indrnil Choudhury as Group Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

With over 26 years of diverse and strategic HR leadership experience, Choudhary will play a pivotal role in shaping Religare’s people strategy, culture, and leadership agenda. He will be directly reporting to the company’s board.
Before joining Religare, Choudhary was with UTI Mutual Fund for over 5 years. He joined the company in December 2019 as President and Head of Human Resources. In April 2023, Choudhary became Group Head Human Resources. In this role, he spearheaded people initiatives, drove ESG strategy, and strengthened subsidiary alignment at a group level.
“Over these past few years, I have had the privilege of working across various different teams, each made up of diverse and unique individuals. Each interaction offered something valuable, stretching me beyond my comfort zone,” Choudhary said in his farewell post.
“Some changes open the door to new beginnings. As I conclude my journey with UTI AMC, I remain deeply appreciative of the lessons I carry with me from one beloved organisation into another,” he added. “While I transition my professional environment, such is the dynamic characteristic of life, I keep one thing in mind- while roles may change, the relationships and connections we have built along this journey are what truly anchor us.”
For 14 years, Choudhary had been associated with HDFC Life, having joined the company in January 2006 as Senior Manager – Zonal HR. In April 2009, he became Associate Vice President – Compensation & Benefits and Employee Engagement and was then promoted to Vice President – HR in April 2012. This was followed by Choudhary becoming Vice President & Business HR Head in October 2014 and Senior Vice President – Human Resources in April 2018.
From August 1999 to January 2006, Choudhary was a part of Shoppers Stop. He joined the company as Unit HR head and then became HR Operations Manager in May 2003. Choudhary was also affiliated with Datamatics from 1998 to 1999 as an HR Officer. He is an alumnus of NIILM, New Delhi, with a PGDBA in Human Resources.
