Redington has appointed Vijay Swaminathan as its Global Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Global Chief Human Resources Officer at Redington Limited!” Swaminathan shared on LinkedIn. He went on to add, “As I step into the next chapter of my #career, I’m excited for what lies ahead — a new industry, in an exciting phase, with brimming opportunities to make an impact. And I can’t wait to dive in. This transition is a chance to pause, reflect, and dream bigger.”

The appointment marks the end of Swaminathan’s time at Citi, a company he had been a part of for 19 years. He joined Citi in January 2006 as an HR Manager, and then continued to climb the ranks until he became the Director and HR Head – India, Citi Solution Centers and Head – Asia (South) Cluster Labor Relations in April 2024.

“A bittersweet moment! After 19 incredible years, it’s time for me to sign off from Citi and embark on the next phase of my professional journey,” Swaminathan stated while talking about his departure from Citi. “Across eight roles, spanning multiple businesses and geographies, I’ve had the privilege to work alongside some of the most talented, inspiring people. In my time at Citi, I am deeply grateful for the friendships forged, the mentors who guided me, the teams who trusted me, and the well-wishers who supported me.”

“Every challenge brought learning. Every learning brought a milestone. Every milestone brought a new sense of purpose,” Swaminathan added. “Citi has been more than just a #workplace — it has been a place of #growth, #opportunity, and innumerable #memories that I will carry with me. Once a Citibanker, always a Citibanker. Thank you, Citi, for shaping not just my career, but me.

In January 2012, while at Citi, Swaminathan became the HR Senior Manager – Retail Banking, followed by his appointment as HR Lead, Kuala Lumpur (Citigroup Transaction Services, Malaysia) in January 2015. He then became HR Lead – Asia (South) Operations & Technology in January 2017 and HR Head – Bangladesh, Srilanka in February 2019. In April 2021, he was given the role of HR Head – India, Citi Solution Centers.

Prior to Citi, Swaminathan had worked at companies like DSQ Software Group (NVCL), Aditya Brila Group (ASCIL), and Tamil Nadu Telecommunications. He completed a strategic advisory course from Cornell University, specialising in Human Resources Management, in 2020. Swaminthan also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management from Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (SIST).
