Rakuten Symphony has named Prajakta Kanaglekar as its Global Chief People Officer. In this role, she will lead the company’s global people strategy, foster a strong organizational culture, and develop talent frameworks that align with Rakuten Symphony’s business vision.
Prajakta was previously Vice President – HR, Technology at Flipkart. She brings over 20 years of experience across industries including technology, e-commerce, energy, and manufacturing.
Before joining Flipkart, Prajakta held various leadership roles across multiple GE businesses. She led Leadership Programs and Culture for Baker Hughes, a GE company, overseeing a global workforce of over 65,000. She also served as HR Leader for GE’s Oil & Gas business in South Asia. Additionally, she was Global University Recruiting Leader for GE, driving key programs to implement the company’s university recruiting strategy worldwide. A graduate of GE’s prestigious Human Resources Leadership Program (HRLP), she has earned accolades such as India HR 40 Under 40 (2018) and the Young HR Leader Award (2019).
Prajakta holds a Master’s in Training & Development from Oakland University, Michigan, a Master’s in German Literature from Pune University, India, and an undergraduate degree in Zoology from Ferguson College, Pune. Beyond her corporate leadership, she serves on the Advisory Board at UPES, helping shape the next generation of talent and leadership development.
