Radisson Hotel Group has set a target of 500 hotels and 50,000 employees in India by 2030.
Elie Younes, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer of the Radisson Hotel Group, shared in an interview with the PTI that the hospitality group hopes to more than double the properties in its portfolio in India. From 200 properties at present, the company is seemingly targeting 250-260 hotels in India by 2026 and 500 by 2030.
“We currently have around 130 hotels open and over 70 under construction. In the next five years, we’re going to make that 500, most likely between 250 and 300 will be open, and around 200 will be under construction,” Younes told PTI.
With the portfolio expansion, Younes stated that Raidsson’s workforce in India will likely triple as well. From a workforce of 17,000 in India today, the company is targeting a headcount of 50,000 by 2030. He also explained how the branded residences segment will soon serve as an alternative model for the Radisson Hotel Group, and not a mainstream model, for the next five years.
Younes emphasised that the Radisson Hotel Group is “very, very focused and excited about India.” He asserted that the next phase of Raidsson’s growth in India will come from tier-II to tier-IV cities and airport hotels, among others. The executive officer also suggested measures like easier visa regulations and improved airline infrastructure to attract more foreign tourists to India.
