Pune Police have registered a case against Flynaut Saas Private Limited for allegedly duping around 500 freshers by promising placements and projects. The company’s CEO, Umesh Patil, was arrested by Hinjawadi Police late Saturday night.
A case has been filed against Umesh Ranjit Patil and company director Punam Upesh Patil, both residents of Hinjawadi Phase 2, under BNS Sections 316 (criminal breach of trust), 318 (cheating), and 3(5) (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
Senior Police Inspector Balaji Pandhare, in charge of Hinjawadi Police Station, stated, “According to a complaint by Mayur Wagh, Umesh Patil and others from Flynaut Saas Private Limited promised high-paying placements and collected ₹1.5 to ₹3 lakh from each fresher.” He added that freshers were asked to pay this amount and were issued offer letters. They received initial training and a stipend for the first few months, but thereafter, the company stopped payments, resulting in financial fraud.
A police official stated that approximately 20 complaints were filed against company CEO Umesh Patil. The company had been shut down, allegedly by Patil for his personal financial gain. Preliminary reports suggest that between 300 and 500 people were affected by the fraudulent scheme.
