Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY) portal went live on Monday. The minister urged employers as well as first-time employees to take advantage of the offerings of the scheme.
Revealed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 79th Independence Day address, PMVBRY aims to add over 3.5 crore jobs over the period of August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2027. The scheme has an outlay of ₹99,446 crore with special incentives for both employers as well as first-time employees.
“The scheme will promote new job creation in the country and support new employees with the encouragement amount,” said Mandaviya.
To avail the benefits of PMVBRY, Mandaviya shared that employers and first-time employees can either register on the portal or upload their Universal Account Number (UAP) to the UMANG app. Part A of the new scheme includes a once-time incentive of an average one-month wage (Basic+DA), up to Rs 15,000, to be provided to first-time employees in two instalments. This will be applicable only for employees with a monthly wage of up to ₹1 lakh.
For the employers, Part B of PMVBRY offers three slabs of incentives. To avail these benefits, they must hire at least two new employees for a company size of less than 50 existing employees. Companies with 50 or more existing employees must hire at least five additional people. The new employees should be added to the company on a sustained basis for at least six months.
If the salary of the new employee is less than ₹10,000 a month, employers get an incentive of ₹1,000. For employees with a salary between the range of ₹10,000 – ₹20,000, employers will receive an incentive of ₹2,000. In the case of employees with salaries up to ₹30,000, employers will be entitled to a one-time incentive of ₹3,000.
“Under this part, the establishment will get an incentive up to Rs 3,000 per month for each additional employee (both first timer and re-joinee), for a sustained period of at least six months. The incentive shall be paid for 2 years. However, for establishments in the manufacturing sector, the incentives will be provided for 4 years,” Mandaviya added in a note. The move is aimed at boosting the manufacturing sector of India.
