PayU appoints Karan Bhatia as Director – HR Business Partner

PayU has appointed Karan Bhatia as Director of Human Resources (HR) Business Partner.

With over 13 years of experience, Bhatia has worked in a diverse set of industries that include e-commerce, mobility, startups, and digital technology. He is an expert in talent management, strategic partnering and change management. In the past, he even led a team of over 500 employees through major organisational changes while making sure that the employee and business needs were met.

Before PayU, Bhatia was a part of Publicis Groupe. He joined the company in February 2021 as Associate Vice President – HR Business Partner, and was then promoted to Vice President – HR Business Partner (People Partner, Employee Experience), a role he held from April 2022 to January 2025. He was also a part of Ola, having started as HR Business Partner – North in October 2017 and then becoming Senior Manager – HR Business Partner (People Partner, Talent Management) in January 2021.

Bhatia has also worked with companies like Rivigo, Innoplexus, MakeMyTrip, and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. He completed his Master of Business Administration in Human Resources Management/Personnel Management from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in 2011. Bhatia also holds various certifications, including those from SHRM, British Council, Aon, Coursera, and TSOW.
