As per a report shared by Indeed, more than 50% job postings in India now disclose salary information upfront.
Indeed reached this conclusion by evaluating job postings from March 2022 to June 2025. It highlighted how salary transparency is becoming more and more popular.
While only 26% of job listings shared salary information in March 2022, this had increased to 47% by the end of 2023 and 50% by June 2025. This trend emphasised how employees want to be involved in a more transparent hiring process.
“While disclosing pay early is becoming a key advantage in attracting talent, there’s still more work to be done to make salary transparency the norm,” said Sashi Kumar, Head of Sales, Indeed India. “Once considered a nice-to-have, it is fast becoming a core pillar of modern employer branding. In fact, in a competitive market, transparency is the new currency for attracting top talent.”
In the Indeed survey involving 1,157 employers and 2,559 job seekers, it was disclosed that sharing salary information is more common with remote and hybrid job postings.
Salary transparency also differs based on job levels. At 13%, senior leadership job postings remain the least transparent, while 32% of junior and mid-level job postings share pay information upfront. 28% of entry-level job postings are also transparent about their salary information.
Industries like IT products and services, banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI), consulting, manufacturing, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods and retail are leading the charge in salary transparency, with 35% job postings sharing the pay information.
The Indeed report also shared that 62% job seekers prefer job listings with included pay information.
