The National Skill Development Corporation and Cultus Education have launched a nationwide cloud and artificial intelligence skilling initiative with support from Amazon Web Services, targeting 1.5 lakh learners across the country.
Under the programme, 1,50,000 learners will receive foundational cloud and AI training through AWS digital content, while 10,000 participants will go through AWS re/Start, a structured, instructor-led programme covering cloud infrastructure, networking, security, programming, databases and AI fundamentals.
The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, will cover all states and Union Territories, with a focus on youth in tier II and tier III cities and underserved communities. It is delivered entirely online through Cultus, which removes the need for learners to relocate to larger cities.
Participants who complete the re/Start programme will receive an AWS certification and access to interview opportunities with local employers. The programme will also include a national hackathon where participants present cloud and AI projects.
“This initiative reflects the vision of Viksit Bharat, where access to opportunity is not determined by geography or background,” said Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education.
The design targets the gaps that non-metro talent often faces, including limited local infrastructure, the absence of recognised industry credentials and few direct connections to technology employers.
