Hyatt Hotels Corporation has exceeded its global hiring target under the RiseHY programme, a workforce development initiative focused on creating employment pathways for opportunity youth young people who are neither in formal employment nor education.

RiseHY was launched by Hyatt with a commitment to hiring 10,000 opportunity youth globally by 2025. The company has now confirmed it has exceeded that target, with its hotels across multiple markets including India having used the programme to bring in younger workers from underserved communities who may not have formal hospitality qualifications.

The programme partners with organisations that train and prepare opportunity youth for entry-level roles in hotels across housekeeping, food and beverage, front desk, and back-of-house functions. Hyatt has positioned RiseHY as both a talent pipeline strategy and a social impact commitment, arguing that purpose-driven hiring improves retention and workforce stability.

For India’s hospitality HR community, the RiseHY outcome is relevant as the domestic hotel industry faces sustained demand for entry-level talent particularly as leisure and business travel continues its post-pandemic recovery. Several global hotel chains operating in India have adopted similar workforce development models as part of their ESG and employer brand commitments.
