Netflix plans to hire up to 300 employees for its new VFX studio in Hyderabad called Eyeline Studios.
With the new facility, Netflix is set to boost its production capabilities in India, increasing investment in the AVGC ecosystem, which includes animation, visual effects, gaming and comics. This move also aligns with the Indian government’s push to generate 2 million jobs in India’s creative industries by 2030.
The Hyderabad office, spanning 32,000 square feet, is Eyeline’s fifth global location, after Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seoul, and London. There is also a smaller facility in Mumbai.
The Hyderabad facility was inaugurated on March 12, 2026, by Telangana chief minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, along with Secretary Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Sanjay Jaju, Telangana’s minister for IT, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce D. Sridhar Babu, Eyeline Studios CEO Jeff Shapiro, and actor and film producer Rana Daggubati.
“Hyderabad is a natural home for Netflix because both are global successes that continue to create new opportunities and careers. In many ways, both Netflix and Hyderabad are gateways bringing together opportunities and talent from across the globe,” Reddy said.
Reddy added, “This partnership reflects our shared ambition to build globally relevant creative ecosystems, and I am confident that Eyeline’s presence will further strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a leading hub for film, technology and the AVGC sector.”
Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s co-CEO, also shared a video address in which he stated that India is one of the most dynamic storytelling markets in the world with extraordinary creative voices, technical depth and production scale.
Sarandos added that “Many of the most loved and ambitious stories in the world are brought to life with advanced visual effects and production technology. The demand for this capability is only increasing, and we want more of that innovation and creation to happen from India, with Indian talent.”
IT Minister Babu also celebrated the inauguration and the step forward in India’s animation industry, stating, “Our government is always looking for skilling the talent required to tutor students. The objective of the government is to build a talent pool across VFX and animation. With Eyeline Studios, we will be number one, the best storytelling place in the globe.”
