NEEPCO India, a subsidiary of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), has appointed Samiran Sinha Ray as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
“NEEPCO has appointed Shri Samiran Sinha Ray, Chief General Manager (HR), NTPC — currently on secondment — as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). The appointment further reinforces NEEPCO’s commitment to strong human resource leadership in support of its future growth and development,” NEEPCO India shared on LinkedIn.
Ray has been a part of NTPC as an HR professional for over 35 years. He brings extensive experience across regional and project-level HR functions to his new position as the CHRO. Ray joined NTPC in 1990 and has since held several senior leadership roles.
Before his recent appointment as the CHRO of NEEPCO India, Ray was the Regional Head of HR at NTPC’s Northern Region Headquarters (NRHQ) in Lucknow — the company’s largest region with eight projects, two joint ventures and a solar project at Nokh. He was also the Regional Head of HR, Eastern Region-II, Bhubaneswar, overseeing five major projects.
Some of Ray’s previous positions with NTPC include being the Regional Head of HR for Eastern Region-I Headquarters, Patna. He also once served as Head of HR at NTPC Farakka, NTPC Barh and other projects. As such, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening HR systems and enhancing employee engagement across various NTPC branches.
Ray is also experienced in working with NTPC’s joint ventures like NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL) and Bharatiya Rail Bijlee Company Limited, Nabinagar (BRBCL), a subsidiary of NTPC with Indian Railways. His deep institutional knowledge and proven HR leadership with NTPC are sure to make Ray an invaluable asset in his new position.
