NAB Names Varun Kumar as Vice President – People & Culture

Varun Kumar has been appointed Vice President – People & Culture at NAB. In this role, he will focus on strengthening people strategies and fostering a culture that supports the bank’s mission to be the most customer-centric company in Australia and New Zealand. NAB refers to the National Australia Bank, a major Australian financial institution that offers banking services to individuals and businesses, with a presence in the UK, Asia, and a single branch in Mumbai, India.

Varun brings over a decade of HR leadership experience. He has overseen the entire employee lifecycle, including talent engagement, performance management, employee grievance handling, internal resourcing, and HR Shared Services. He specializes in HR Shared Services processes, payroll management, rewards, and data analytics. Prior to this new role, Varun spent more than nine years at Edelman, where he oversaw HR Shared Services and spearheaded several people-centric initiatives. His earlier stints with PeopleStrong, Genpact, and Symphony Teleca further honed his expertise in HR operations, employee relations, and talent management.
