Locus has appointed Deepa Subbaiah as its Chief Human Resources Officer, as the AI-driven logistics technology company strengthens its people strategy for its next phase of global growth.
Subbaiah brings more than 25 years of HR leadership across product, engineering, SaaS, technology, IT services and commercial organisations.
Before Locus, she took an 11-month career break following a role as AVP & Head HR-APAC & India at Amadeus, where she led the people agenda for over 7,000 employees, transformed the regional HR operating model, and set up HR centres of excellence across talent, rewards and DE&I.
Prior to that, Subbaiah spent nearly two years as Senior Director-HR (Product & Engineering) at Freshworks, leading HR strategy for over 1,900 global engineering employees through an AI-led transformation, and chaired the company’s POSH Committee.
Earlier in her career, Subbaiah spent almost four years at Cisco as an HR Business Partner for engineering, supporting more than 5,500 employees, followed by a stint as General Manager (HR) at 3M and more than four years across multiple HR leadership roles at Wipro.
Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Subbaiah said she looks forward to helping Locus “grow with clarity,” strengthening role evolution, decision-making, ownership and cross-functional collaboration as AI reshapes how the company works. Her focus in the new role will be enabling Locus to scale without unnecessary complexity while building an environment where employees can do their best work.
Subbaiah holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Mount Carmel Institute of Management, Bangalore, and a BSc in Microbiology, Zoology and Chemistry from Mount Carmel College.
