LNJ Bhilwara Group has appointed Ranjan Sarkar as Group Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective August 1, 2025.
“My role is expected to bring in strong systems and practices across both HR and IR domains,” Sarkar told People Matters in an exclusive interaction. “It is important to blend the legacy strengths of the group with the right change management to support its next phase of growth.”
With over two decades of experience, Sarkar has worked in a variety of industries, including the auto sector, energy storage, metals, tyres, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), media and communication. This has helped him hone his skills in change management, business partnership, cultural transformation, mergers and acquisitions, complex industrial relations, and greenfield assignments.
Prior to joining LNJ Bhilwara Group, Sarkar was a part of Exide Industries for over 8 years. He joined the company in June 2017 as President HR, and retained the role until July 2025. Sarkar was also affiliated with CEAT Tyres for over 8 years, from July 2008 to March 2017, as Vice President of HR.
From May 2004 to November 2007, Sarkar worked with Zee Entertainment Enterprises as Assistant Vice President, HR – Zee and Dish TV. Before that, he was an HR Manager for GSK Pharmaceuticals from May 2000 to May 2004. Sarkar was also a part of Shaw Wallace from June 1999 to May 2000 as a Management Trainee.
Sarkar has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resource Management. He pursued his degree from 1997 to 1999 at the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune.
