Kotak Mahindra Bank has appointed Abhijeet Sawant as Vice President (VP), Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR), effective February 2025.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Vice President ER and IR at Kotak Mahindra Bank!” Sawant shared on LinkedIn. In his new role, Sawant will be heading the employee and industrial relations for the Kotak Group of Companies.
Before Kotak, Sawant was a part of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited for over eleven years. He joined the company in April 2013 as HR Head, Baroda Manufacturing Plant and was then elevated to Head of Industrial Relations and HRBP Sales for the Western Region.
In May 2019, Sawant became the Head of Industrial Relations and HRBP Innovation Centre. He was then promoted to Head of Employee Relations, Lead Compliance Governance Risk, and Employee Care in June 2021, a role he retained until February 2025.
Sawant was associated with Suzlon Group from July 2011 to March 2013 as Head HR. Prior to that, he worked with INEOS ABS (USA) as Manager (People and HR) from July 2008 to July 2011.
An alumnus of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, Sawant has a Master’s Degree in Labour Welfare and Human Resource Development, Labour Law, Human Resource Management, Organisation Development, and Organisation Behaviour. He also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM) Global.
