
Julius Baer India has appointed Jayesh Kothari as chief human resources officer (CHRO) for India, effective 17 September 2026. He is based in India and has also taken up the designations of Managing Director and Senior Advisor.
The Swiss wealth manager tied the appointment directly to its India build-out. The firm said the move comes as it accelerates growth plans in the country, with a focus on expanding its relationship manager base and strengthening mid-office functions.
On the people agenda, the company’s announced: “Building leadership depth and organisational capabilities will remain a key priority.”
Kothari brings more than 25 years of experience in financial services, having worked across private banking, investment banking, markets, asset and wealth management, insurance and shared services. He joins from Barclays, where he spent 11 years in senior HR leadership roles. Most recently, he was interim HR business partner for the Private Bank business covering the UK and Crown Dependencies, along with international private bank locations in Switzerland, Monaco, Ireland, the UAE, India and Singapore.
Before that, Kothari was HR business partner for Barclays Private Bank in APAC. Earlier in his career, he held senior HR roles at Kotak Mahindra Capital, Lehman Brothers, HSBC Securities & Capital Markets and ICICI Lombard General Insurance. He holds an MBA in Human Resources and a postgraduate certificate in Human Resource Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
