IT major Infosys has invited senior employees to join interview panels for campus recruitment, marking a revival of hiring after a two-year gap. The panels will visit colleges across the country to recruit Digital Specialist Engineers (DSE), according to The Economic Times.
For the first time, Infosys has sent out a mass email inviting senior employees at the manager level and above to join campus hiring panels. As part of the selection process, these executives will evaluate candidates on core programming knowledge and problem-solving abilities for entry-level Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE) roles. Employees at job level five (JL5) and higher, with at least one year of service and a performance rating of ‘met expectations’ or above, are eligible to volunteer. They will travel to campuses nationwide to conduct in-person interviews for positions at Infosys’ development centres.
Infosys’ latest move aligns with CEO Salil Parekh’s statement in July that the company would steer clear of layoffs and instead hire around 20,000 graduates this year. He also highlighted the company’s focus on artificial intelligence and workforce development as key priorities for staying competitive. To date, Infosys has trained nearly 2.75 lakh employees in AI and digital technologies at various levels. These hiring updates come at a time when several Indian IT firms have reported significant job cuts in the current financial year.
