As per a report by The Economic Times, Infosys has tightened its hybrid work policy by limiting work-from-office exemptions to a maximum of five days per quarter.

The company, as per the report, will make exceptions to the new limit only in cases of critical medical conditions affecting the employee or dependents, with employees required to back their requests with supporting documents, including a doctor’s verification.

Employees at job level 5 and below are mandated to work from the office for at least 10 days a month. The new policy cap applies to requests for additional work-from-home days beyond the standard policy.

With over 3,00,000 employees, Infosys introduced its return-to-home policy on November 20, 2023, which mandated employees to work from the office for at least 10 days a month. Enforcement of the same began only on March 10, 2025, with employees required to stay in the office for at least three hours.

Infosys’ new WFO exemption cap comes after companies like Wipro and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) also tightened their work-from-office policies. The new wave of rules marks the return of the work-from-office culture, with companies shedding the work-from-office model that became commonplace during the COVID-19 pandemic.
