In the July-September 2025 quarter, or Q2FY26, Infosys added a net of 8,203 employees to its workforce, bringing its employee headcount to 331,991, as of September 30, 2025.

With this, Infosys has added a net of 8,413 employees in the first half of the ongoing financial year. This is in contrast with its contemporaries like Wipro and Tech Mahindra, who reported either flat or negative employee headcount changes.

A significant amount of Infosys’ hiring momentum is focused on recruiting freshers through campus recruitment. During the company’s Q2 post-earnings call, Jayesh Sanghrajka, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Infosys, revealed that the company had hired more than 12,000 fresh graduates in the first half of FY26.

“We had said that we would hire 15,000 to 20,000 freshers in FY26, and in the first half, we have already hired over 12,000 freshers. We are well on track to hire close to 20,000 freshers,” said Sanghrajka.

Infosys added that it will be hiring locally for its campus in Hubballi, Karnataka. This move is part of the company’s strategy to expand beyond Tier-1 cities. Earlier, Infosys had offered an incentive package to all the employees willing to relocate to the Hubballi campus.

“In terms of the campus movement, you always need to have certain senior people move to those campuses so that you start meeting the demand requirement, and that’s how you incentivise people to move to certain campuses, and then you start building the team below that,” Sanghrajka explained.

The CFO did confirm that some employees have indeed been hired locally for the Hubbali campus, though he did not reveal the numbers.

Sanghrajka also talked about the salary hikes rolled out in January and April of 2025. “It is generally an annual cycle and we will look at it in future. We have not decided anything for this year at this point in time,” he stated.
