Akshay Rakshit has been appointed as Head – Talent Acquisition & Strategy at Hyundai Motor India Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company. In this role, he will lead the HR strategy for talent across both Hyundai and Genesis brands in India.
His mandate spans a dynamic and evolving talent landscape, covering strategic hiring, employer branding, young talent development, policy innovation, talent mapping, sustainability, and HR transformation. He will be responsible for designing and executing a forward-looking talent acquisition strategy aligned with Hyundai’s business priorities, including strengthening the employer brand, attracting critical capabilities, and elevating candidate experience.
A significant part of his role will be driving young talent initiatives, such as campus partnerships, early career programs, and rotational development, to build robust future-ready pipelines. In addition, he will spearhead policy transformation efforts to foster agility, inclusion, and competitiveness across the HR framework.
Prior to this role, Akshay served as Human Resource Business Partner at BMW Group India, where he worked closely with the CEO and CHRO to drive business and HR priorities aligned with the company’s growth strategy. With over a decade of progressive HR experience, he has also held key leadership roles at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Honda Cars India Ltd., and Exide Industries Limited.
Academically, Akshay has completed the Executive Development Program in Talent Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur, and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management with a specialization in Human Resource, Industrial Relations, Human Resource Development, and Labour Laws from the Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi.
