HDFC Life has appointed Vijay Vaidyanathan as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), marking a leadership transition within the organisation’s people function after more than two decades with the company.

In his new role, he will focus on strengthening talent development, organisational capability, and workforce strategy as HDFC Life continues to expand its operations and adapt to evolving dynamics in the insurance sector.

The appointment, approved by the board following the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, will take effect from 1 April 2026.

Vaidyanathan will join the company’s senior management team and oversee the organisation’s human resources strategy.

Vaidyanathan has been with HDFC Life since 2001, spending over 25 years with the firm in various leadership roles.

During this time, he has contributed to several strategic and organisational initiatives, including participation in the company’s Talent Council and employee well-being programmes, while also supporting recognition and engagement initiatives across the organisation.
