GSK is welcoming back Roanne Parry as Chief People Officer.

This is a very special company, driven by brilliant minds and a shared commitment to our patient-led purpose and culture,” Roanne Parry wrote on LinkedIn, confirming her return to GSK as Chief People Officer.

In her new role, Parry will lead the British pharmaceutical major’s global people strategy, with a focus on leadership capability, workforce planning, and culture as the company sharpens its product-centric operating model under new CEO Luke Miels. She succeeds Diana Conrad, who is retiring. Conrad said on LinkedIn that GSK’s people function was “in the very best hands with Roanne.”

The appointment marks a homecoming. Parry previously spent over 22 years at GSK before moving to the global biotech firm CSL.

Most recently, Parry served as Chief Human Resources Officer at CSL from January 2024, where she led the people strategy across global markets and oversaw talent acquisition, total rewards, transformational change, and leadership development for the biotechnology company.

Before CSL, Parry spent more than two decades at GSK across a series of senior HR leadership roles. Her last stop there was Senior Vice President – Human Resources, Research and Development, where she led talent and organisation strategies for one of the company’s most critical functions. She also held the roles of SVP HR – Global Pharma Commercial, VP HR – Emerging Markets, and VP HR Business Leader – Pharma Europe. Earlier assignments spanned Central and Eastern Europe, corporate communications, R&D, and consumer healthcare HR.

Parry joined GSK in 2001 as a Senior HR Manager for Research and Development, after starting her career in HR leadership roles at Fedsure Holdings in South Africa.
