Godrej Properties has rolled out a new mental health and well-being initiative aimed at supporting construction workers across its project sites, highlighting an increased focus on worker welfare in the real estate sector.
The initiative titled Godrej SAHYOG, a structured programme, was introduced after a six-month pilot run at six construction locations in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. It is now being expanded to cover 79 identified sites nationwide, with an expected reach of approximately 30,000 workers in key regions such as Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh.
The initiative, launched in collaboration with professional mental health provider 1to1 Help, offers a mix of support services, including monthly on-site group wellbeing sessions, confidential one-on-one counselling, and a 24/7 audio-visual helpline for emotional support and crisis assistance.
Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Chairperson of Godrej Properties, said the programme reflects the company’s belief that those who build the nation deserve holistic care, underscoring mental wellbeing as a key component of worker support.
The move is seen as part of a broader shift in how developers address employee welfare, extending wellbeing initiatives beyond traditional office environments to on-site labour forces.
