Genpact’s new 10-hour workday policy has sparked backlash among its employees.

The new measures for Genpact’s Indian offices have prompted its employees to take to social media and express their displeasure. Reports of heightened pressure, fatigue, and a sharp dip in morale are now circulating, with many employees claiming that Genpact’s new policy is in direct contrast to the rising trend of workplace flexibility.

As per the new policy, the company is now using an internal dashboard to keep track of the “active hours” of its employees. The system apparently tracks time spent on tasks and flags irregularities. Hwoever, employees have criticised the platforms, stating that the categorisation of the most minor infractions as “behavioural issues” has led to a tense atmosphere within Genpact.

The strict policy has also shed light on the impact on the company’s older employees. There have been allegations that the new policy is meant to pave the way to replace older staff with newer recruits on altered terms and lower pay scales.

As per the Hindu, Genpact’s employees have become concerned about the increase in attrition and the lack of transparency in the new policy. Overall, employees remain sceptical about just how effective the new policy really is when it comes to boosting productivity.
