Epson has launched a classroom learning on Robotics with practical, real-life applications training on its cutting-edge Robotics solutions to empower engineering students in India.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between what is taught in classrooms and industry expectations. Through this, Epson hopes to make students ready with practical skills aligned to modern manufacturing needs.
The Epson program includes an internship at the Epson Solution Centre in Bengaluru. The company introduced an internship to the first batch of 22 students from four premier engineering institutes. The interns went through 19 days of hands-on training, engaging with real-world robotics systems and gaining invaluable insights into the dynamics of modern manufacturing environments.
For this programme, Epson partnered with Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), Bengaluru, to establish a state-of-the-art Epson Robotics Lab. The company is also working with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai, where another Epson Robotics lab will soon be established.
These labs will feature Epson’s advanced SCARA and 6-axis robots, engineered for precision, speed, and reliability across tasks such as assembly, material handling, packaging, and inspection.
“At Epson, we believe in empowering the next generation of engineers with the tools and training they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry,” said Siva Kumar, Sr. General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Epson India. “Our partnerships with academic institutions and the dedicated internship programme are all about giving students the exposure they need to step confidently into the workforce.”
Over 100 students are expected to benefit from such initiatives in FY25. Epson is actively supporting the growth of industry-academic collaboration in India’s engineering education landscape while continuing to expand its reach to empower future innovators nationwide.
